Healthy Food for Pregnancy: Fish Eggs
Many cultures have depended on fish eggs as part of a healthy diet. Specifically, they have been used by Eskimos, the people of the South Sea Islands, residents of the islands to the north of Australia, the Gaelics in the Outer Hebrides, and the coastal Peruvian Indians. Among the Eskimos, fish eggs were eaten by women of childbearing age for the purpose of enhancing the function of the reproductive system.
Fish eggs are a healthy pregnancy food used around the world by mothers-to-be. Because they are not available year-round, the Eskimos were known to preserve their fish eggs through drying so that they could be eaten all year long.
